Wild Life Game

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Wild Life Game surprised me. I expected another tap-to-feed timer trap, but it is a patient little simulation about raising a patch of wilderness and the animals that wander into it. You plant trees, dig a watering hole, and slowly the place fills with foxes, deer and birds that each behave a bit differently. The pace is slow in a good way, the kind of game you open with a coffee.

Controls are pure touch and they fit the phone perfectly. You drag to pan the world, pinch to zoom, and tap an animal to follow it around. Nothing fights your thumbs, and there is a one-handed portrait mode that I used more than I expected on the bus. The menus are clean and the tutorial trusts you to figure things out.

Battery-wise it is friendly, since the world is calm and there is no flashy particle storm draining the GPU. I played a long evening session and my phone stayed cool. If you want something relaxing rather than demanding, Wild Life Game is an easy recommendation.
